Project Dreadnought
A downloadable game for Windows
OVERIEW
Project Dreadnought is our first project release. Obstruction Games is an Australian based independent game developer.
Is this a Space Invaders clone?... Well pretty much. We wanted to start with an early inspiration and see what we could learn when we focused on the basics like creating a menu system, save and load systems, optimization, basic inputs and controls and more.
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay wise, you shouldn't expect much, it's rather simple, shoot at the bad guys that gain speed both in movement and in their fire rates, the player should also have a slight upgrade to their weapons system after each wave, of which there are five, which is also when the difficulty increases. There are multiple waves of each enemy type.
- Green = Seekers
- Yellow = Enforcers
- Red = Warships
- Purple = Decimators
- White = Obliterators
- Wave 1 = Seekers, Enforcers, Warships, Decimators (Version 1)
- Wave 2 = Seekers, Enforcers, Warships, Decimators (Version 2)
- Wave 3 = Seekers, Enforcers, Warships, Decimators (Version 3)
- Wave 4 = Seekers, Enforcers, Warships, Decimators (Version 4)
- Wave 5 = Obliterators
You might notice that each enemy version is slightly darker in their color.

For those that might question the file size at 400+ MB, it's because it was developed as a 3D game, all the assets are 3D, you are playing in 3D with an orthographic camera view to make it look 2D, Unreal Engine is not built for 2D games, but it is the engine I know most about and the challenge was exciting, the drawback being the file-size.
